Rana Pratap Viswavidyalaya M.P. was legally established under the guidance of jurists, eminent educationists, and social workers for educational development in wide areas. It was registered by the Government of Madhya Pradesh on 24 September 1980, for promoting distance education, via file No. 7231 (M), registration No. 601.

The Rana Pratap Viswavidyalaya aims to impart quality education through strategic growth, vertical and horizontal integration, and to become a world-class Organization with a global perspective. It strives to remain in the forefront of cutting-edge knowledge and follow international best practices in academics.

Rana Pratap Viswavidyalaya is a Legal Autonomous and non-profit Institution under the Government of India. It holds the legal right to offer teaching and training. Information centres are located in major Indian cities and international expansion is planned for foreign and non-resident Indian students.

We aim to make academic issues and commitments the key concern of youth, fostering education, research, and innovation to empower the next generation. The university is committed to excellence in interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary education and is progressing toward national prominence.

Our mission includes providing education to underprivileged and backward communities at concessional fees, and supporting the vocational and educational rights under Articles 14, 15, 19(1), 21, 26, 29, 30, 45, 46 & 351 of the Indian Constitution.
